If you follow my Facebook pages, you may have seen that my seven year old daughter’s best friend is moving out of town.
This is their last week together, and it has been an emotional roller-coaster for us since we found out she would be moving. Her family lives several doors away from us, and it felt like we had won the jackpot when we moved to the neighborhood and discovered Izzy would have friends so close by.
I am writing about our reaction to this transition, my own history of moving as a child, and the tendencies of friendships to evolve as the tide turns over at The HerStories Project today. I hope you’ll stop by and read Childhood Friendships and the Turning of the Tide.
Has your child ever lost a best friend to a move? Has your family moved a lot?
